The Wedding Dresses 1775-2014 exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum is on my ‘to go to’ list this summer and I think it will make a lovely day out for many mums and daughters.
Following the development of wedding dresses through the ages and including pieces by designers such as Vera Wang and Christian Lacroix, the exhibit will highlight the chances and similarities of fashion throughout the past two centuries.
Celebrity wedding dresses will also be on display; from Gwen Stafani to Dita Von Teese, the exhibition will highlight the history of the dresses and reveal fascinating details about the lives of the wearers.
Romantic and glamorous, extravagant and simple, every woman I know has fallen in love with their own wedding dress and I’m sure that we all agree, it’s the highlight of the wedding ceremony!
The Wedding Dresses 1775-2014 Exhibition is open until 15 March 2015. For more details visit www.vam.ac.uk
