The Root of all Evil is a dark thriller that will leave readers feeling highly unsettled and unnerved. When Della Reynolds’ younger sister, Jo Beth, mysteriously vanishes with her boyfriend she decides to investigate. She traces her to the quiet town of Jerusalem and enlists the help of local historian Colonel Morgan. However, her investigation has horrific consequences. Jo Beth’s mutilated corpse is found and soon Della is viciously attacked. Other brutal attacks follow. Why was Jo Beth drawn to the derelict Mornay house and why is it guarded by sinister crows? What are they protecting? And Della and the people of Jerusalem discover that they will protect it at any cost. Ronald Kenyon has written a terrifying tale of horror and mystery. You won’t be able to put it down.

This book is certainly a thriller that leaves you nervously checking your doors and windows….not for the faint hearted.  I truly couldn’t put it down – a real page turner and a great read.  I’ll never look at crows in the same way again.

Ronald Kenyon has written a very good first novel.  He has the ability to grip you with his storytelling, and I will put him down on my list for the next book, if I dare…
