We’ve rounded up the best family friendly spots in this iconic beach resort suitable for both young families and those with teenagers so that everyone can have a brilliant day out or trip:

The Blackpool Tower

A visit to Blackpool wouldn’t be complete without a trip to The Blackpool Tower. Built in 1891, the distinguishable structure is home to many attractions that everyone can enjoy.

See Blackpool in a whole new way with the sensory 4D Cinema experience which takes you back to when The Tower was being constructed, through the swinging 1920s and right up to The Tower we know and love today. For unparalleled views, a trip to The Tower Eye is a must –where you can step out, if you dare, onto the solid glass floor of The SkyWalk and look down at the bustling activity below. On a clear day you can see as far as Liverpool and the Isle of Man!

For any budding dancers in your family, a peek inside The Blackpool Tower will delight them as they see the famous dance floor that plays host to many dancing competitions and even an episode of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing every year!

If you’ve got older children then delve into the dark and murky history of Lancashire with a trip to The Blackpool Tower Dungeon. Featuring witchcraft from the Pendle witches, smuggling with Captain Johnson and gruesome executions at the hands of prolific hangman Ned Barlow, this exciting walk through attraction will leave you laughing with every twist and turn.

Blackpool Beaches

The British coastline has much beauty and the Fylde Coast offers stunning views and one of the best beaches in Britain. The South Beach was awarded a coveted Blue Flag this year, and as one of the most popular beaches in Blackpool it’s not hard to see why this spot is a favourite with visitors.

Paddling in the sea is a seaside must, and don’t forget to top off all that beach fun with a stroll along the Golden Mile between the North and South Piers. The perfect place to feast on some traditional beach resort grub, you can indulge in some hearty fish and chips or even satisfy a sweet tooth with ice cream or candyfloss!

SEA LIFE Blackpool

Whether your child is a budding diver or an aspiring marine biologist, seeing and meeting the many creatures at SEA LIFE Blackpool is a great day out. From sharks to stingrays, starfish and even seahorses, your children will love discovering the underwater wildlife.

A visit to the interactive rockpool is a brilliant idea for anyone who wants to get up close and personal – visitors can get a mini manicure from the shrimps, hold a starfish and even touch an anemone! The underwater tunnel is always a favourite with kids of all ages (and adults too!) as they can marvel as sharks swim overhead.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool

Cosying up to a celebrity hero or taking the perfect selfie with a TV great makes for a fun activity that everyone can enjoy.

Keep sports fans happy with their chance to show off their Mo Bot moves next to Mo Farah and score a goal against England goalie Joe Hart. TV fanatics will be happy too, as they get a chance to sit next to X Factor judges, pose next to matchmaker Paddy McGuinness from ITV’s Take Me Out and meet national favourites Ant and Dec.

Music fans are in for an extra treat with Festival Fields, which is new to the attraction this year. The perfect festival without the mud, get the perfect snap with Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Olly Murs – ideal for any keen celebrity spotter!
