Stuck in this Easter

Well my Easter holidays have been quieter than usual – I’m staying at home all week to potty train twin 2…

Twin 1 was ready for this a while ago & I finally got round to doing it during February half term.  This worked well as we made no plans for the week & concentrated solely on him using the potty – & bless him, after the first very ‘wet’ day, full of accidents, he totally got it & has been dry ever since.  Big shoes for his slightly wayward brother…!!!

This has to be the most stressful task of motherhood since weaning…I am not always the most patient of people, so it’s more of a task for me than the children! This time I was prepared; plenty of floor wipes, kitchen roll, spare clothes within easy reach (for me & him!), stickers ready for ‘well done’ chart & bribes – lots & lots of smarties!!!

Three days in & he’s doing really well (I hate to put this in writing as I know I’m now jinxing it!) but, omg it’s boring staying in at home while everyone else is busy posting on Facebook or Twitter about how great their days out & about have been!!!

My saviour has been that the playhouse was delivered on Monday & hubby stood true to his promise & built it once he got home from work on Tuesday! A fully detailed review will be coming shortly, but I have to say that the boys have loved playing in it! All day today was spent in the garden & they have told me it is not a playhouse, but a play-restaurant! Well, with that firmly decided I have been busy looking for ideas of how to make it seem like a real restaurant…

Ideas so far include the obvious; a table & chairs, play kitchen with food & utensils…but what else? Play menus? A chalk board with daily specials? I’m quite stuck for ideas…over to you Mojomums, can you help me with any great ideas & thoughts…???
