So what’s hot this spring and which trends will easily come from the catwalk and easily translate to the high street and which should stay on the models only!
Embellishment – From beads and sequins to studs and jewels – there is no such thing as too much this season.
Floral – There will be lots of floral prints but big and bold rather than ditsy prints
Lace – Is still big this season, this also features in the sheer category as some lace won’t have that safe under layer with it!
Sheer – especially skirts – so long flowing sheer skirts with short skirts under or sheer revealing the midriff
Shiny – Satin pastels or bold metallics both are big – although not together!
Fringed – to add to the detail and embellished look fringing is also big this season
Bohemian chic – think layers lots of fringing and details to pull off this look
Pleats – long and midi length skirts with lots of pleats are also big this season.
Exposed Midriff – potentially one just for the catwalks unless you have a gorgeous tummy! Lots of cropped tops and sheer middles around at the moment!
Off the shoulder – Either strapless or one shouldered tops.
Matching – lots of accessories are matching this season rather than going for a contrast keep it all very matchy or if you are looking for that something a bit different make it really clash with a different print or bold colour
Rock glamour – Adding a rock edge to a glamorous look so adding the leather jacket to a summer floral dress.
Monochrome prints the bolder the better
So what colours are big this season?
Monochrome is sticking around, from the big geometric prints to keeping it simple with black bottom white top or visa versa.
White all by itself – from top to toe – especially a wide leg trouser.
Pastel colours – from mint to pink and lilac
Metallic – Silver’s and gold’s the shinier the better
Orange – apparently orange is the new black – not in my wardrobe I can assure you as I have more black than any other colour (It’s slimming!) But Orange will be big in the shops this spring
Pink is the colour to add a splash to any outfit this spring, from baby pink to hot pink whatever shade you choose it will update your look to be bang on trend this spring.
Mint Green – Of all the pastel colours mint green is a popular shade this season.
I hope this has given you a few hints to know what is coming this season and help you choose the trends that will suit you, your colourings and your figure and which ones will look nice admiring from afar (For me there will be no midriff sharing – EVER!!!)
