What Sage say: the Risotto Plus Multi Cooker ™

Rice, risotto & slow cooker in one

But this clever little cooker controls temperature precisely. It makes stir free risotto by agitating the rice grains with bubbles to release the starch and create a creamy texture. And it does equally well with all types of rice and slow cooking too.

The large 3.7 litre capacity (up to 20 cups of cooked rice) and keep warm setting make it perfect for feeding the family or entertaining. It also includes a steaming tray for steaming vegetables, seafood and poultry and a removable cooking bowl.

Heston’s Tip: “When making a risotto, mix in some fresh cheese and acidulated butter after the cycle has finished for an even creamier result. Shaved parmesan works particularly well in complementing the flavour of Arborio grains. ”

Reviewer: “I’ve always wanted a slow cooker and when this superb product was offered to Mojomums to review, I jumped at the chance.  That is until they asked me to review it by making a risotto –  In a slow cooker?

I was sceptical to say the least, but brought it home and decided to get some first hand advice.  So unashamedly (having first made sure no-one was around) I watched Heston on YouTube as he explained the whole process.

Anyone who knows me would never use the words ‘cordon bleu’ when describing my cuisine, but on went my Pinny and I followed his simple steps – Whoopee!  my very first risotto was served up to a couple of long suffering friends who were surprised and delighted that:

1. It was edible, and

2. It was light, fluffy (as Heston had foretold) and DELICIOUS!

If I can use it successfully, anyone can.  It does exactly what it says on the tin and I and my new Sage Multi Cooker are blissfully happy together as I look forward to many well cooked and scrummy meals.

In the words of Heston “It’s a simpler, smarter, easier way to clean cooking”

I would give this slow cooker 9/10  it was easy to use, the food was great, it is easy to clean and it is my new absolute favourite kitchen item!”

Sage the Risotto Plus Multi Cooker is available from many high street stores and online from Amazon.
