OVERVIEW OF EXPERIENCE:

What did you enjoy most about the day?

We love nothing more than loading the car with a picnic and driving to Whipsnade Zoo. We live about 30 minutes away and so it is something we do quite regularly since becoming members in August. On a cold day we tend to have a hot lunch in the café – which is always good and not overpriced. We also spend time in the fantastic soft play area. On a hot day we watch the sea lion show so Bethany can sit in the splash area, she loves it despite smelling a little fishy for the rest of the day! Bethany loves the hippos and the giraffes. So they are a must on every trip! As we can go back whenever we like we can tailor our trip to be as short or as long as our day permits. But you can always find something to do to fill the entire day!

What did your kids enjoy most about the day?

The kids love everything about the day out, from playgrounds and soft play to watching all the animals. It is a fantastic day out and if you are lucky enough to live close to Whipsnade or London Zoo then I think the memberships are well worth it! Plus you get 10% off in the restaurant and gift shop

In your opinion is the attraction suitable for children of different ages regardless of the age restrictions advised by the attraction itself

What is there for 0-2 year olds? Yes Jess always has a great day looking at the animals.

What is there for 3 – 6 year olds?  Great age for the attraction. Everything is so amazing at that age! Especially watching a hippo fling poo!

What is there for 6- 12 year olds? Lots to see for animal lovers.

Any Tips?

If you are going at a busy or cold time of year I recommend going to the soft play first and putting your child’s name down for a slot later on as it tends to get busy and they may miss out if you just turn up later in the day! it is a good soft play area and there is a coffee shop…. need I say more!

We have also just joined ZSL as members – and have already visited twice this month! I can see it is going to be a popular family day out together, especially as we now no longer feel that we have to fit everything in during the visit – I haven’t been to London Zoo since I was a child, so that is next on our list…!
