What they say: Join two best friends – Marleen the butterfly and Hissy the snake – on a fun-filled yoga adventure. Can Marleen inspire Hissy to be strong and brave like her? His courage will soon be put to the test…

This is a simple story that helps children find self belief and courage through the art of yoga.

What we say: “My daughter is nearly 6 and is a very excitable, busy child so when I was given the chance to review this book by yoga instructor Priya Sawhney I was keen to see if it may help calm her!

The story itself is sweet; Hissy the Snake is a kind but scared character and Marleen the Butterfly wants to inspire him to become fearless…

At the back of the book there are colour-coded yoga poses with a detailed description of how to complete the move and the benefits of doing them. Throughout the story, the colour codes are shown and that is when you complete the move. A really great thing to do together and I think this enhances the story in such a lovely way.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and has asked to do yoga even without the book. The moves are easy to understand and even a novice like me can do them! My daughters favourite moves are ‘stretch like a butterfly’ (I can’t do this one!) and the positive affirmations.”
