What we say: “After watching The Gruffalo show (click here to read our review) we headed a short walk to the Haymarket Hotel at Suffolk Place, about a five minute walk from the theatre.
I was so looking forward to this! I love having an afternoon tea and I knew my sweet-tooth children would take after me!
The Brumus Restaurant is beautiful and when we arrived we noticed other families already tucking into their Gruffalo goodies! A menu was given and we were asked if we had any dietary requests. Just a few moments later and our teas arrived – I’m going to let the photos do the talking here…!!!
Wonderful theming, perfect sizes for little tummies and delicious too! Also great value at £12 per child including a large milkshake or hot chocolate. Needless to say, the cakes and ice cream did not last long!
And the fun ins’t just for the children, the adults tea is not Gruffalo themed but was absolutely delicious! Perfectly sized sandwiches, amazing scones with plenty of jam and clotted cream and then teeny-tiny cakes and pastries that were to die for!
Oh, and afternoon tea isn’t complete without a glass of fizz…!!!
The boys enjoyed trying bites of ours as well as their own and I thought this was just a perfect way to end an amazing family day out.
If you are in and around London this holiday, whether you are seeing the Gruffalo show or just fancy treating your little ones to something a little different and very special, I honestly can’t recommend this tea highly enough – we will be back!”
