What they say: A delightful story about a grand piano called Steiny, who lives in a music shop. Other smaller pianos never give him a chance to shine. He overcomes several obstacles to discover his own happiness, eventually learning to love being himself.

What we say: “Steiny’s Rhapsody is a wonderful children’s book!

My 5 year old loved exploring the rich and colourful scenes within the music shop. The language was bright and accessible for the age group, but also included some musical terms which added interest, these words were explained in a definitions page at the back of the book.

Steiny’s Rhapsody is a wonderful children’s book!

Within the story some of the other pianos who aren’t made in the same way as Steiny make fun of his looks, but he goes to another space in the shop on his own and finds joy within his music. This story was a great opportunity to talk with my daughter around Steiny’s feelings, but also explore finding hobbies and activities that you can enjoy doing on your own!

A great read!”
