To celebrate the start of Half Term we decided to head to family favourite Pizza Express for a meal out.  Like many young families, we tend to chose this style of restaurant for the great food and also the amazing value…

The Piccolo menu for kids offers great value at just £6.95 for 3 courses and a warm Bambinoccino and as both of my boys love pizza, it’s the obvious choice!

The famous Pizza Express Dough Balls to start with…there were 6 dough balls each I think but the boys tucked into them before I could take a photo!!!

Hubby and I shared the Dough Balls Doppio – classic dough balls but with three different types of dips.  We all loved the harissa spiced tomato one, delicious!

Another reason why we love Pizza Express is the children’s table activities – colouring pencils are provided, along with chefs hats to decorate and plenty of colouring and activities…

…even a mini snakes and ladders to fill the gap between starts and main meal…

Now, much as Pizza Express do offer pasta options, for me, the hint is the name and it’s all about pizzas!  The kids menu allowed the boys to choose their own toppings – one chicken and pepperoni pizza and one ham and pepperoni ordered!

My twins are nearly 7 and the meal sizes are perfect for them – a little older and I’m sure we would be choosing from the adult menu, though they are both big eaters!

We both had pizzas too – I chose the Classic based La Reine and husband picked the larger, thinner Romana based Pollo ad Astra (my absolute favourite but I thought we should all try something different this time!).  Pizza Express absolutely do the best pizzas in my opinion!

Empty plates all round and the boys still had room for desserts.  The Piccolo menu gives them a few choices and both opted for the Piccolo Sundae along with a warm Bambinoccino…!

Our meal was delicious, the atmosphere lively and fun and our server (Dan at Watford Pizza Express) was really attentive and helpful.  A three course meal for a family of four including drinks came to just £70, and this is without any special offers or vouchers – great value!

Pizza Express even offer Pizza Making Parties (for adults as well as children!) – guess who will be celebrating their 7th birthday doing this?!

Thanks so much Pizza Express for our meal, we will be back again very soon!
