What they say:  Magic Maths is an exciting and spellbinding maths game for children aged 5-7. Players take turns to solve the sums and fill their boards with yucky spell ingredients, from worm-infested cupcakes to brains and bogies! Once players have worked out the answer to the sum, the magic begins…by turning over their card and rubbing the heath sensitive patches to reveal if their answer is correct.

The game has been designed specifically for KS1 maths in collaboration with teachers and educational professionals. Therefore, it incorporates a broad range of sums including addition, subtraction and multiplication to offer a challenging game.

Featuring competitive gameplay, fun wizard characters and a broad range of simple and challenging sums, this spellbinding game is bound to be a favourite amongst conscientious parents and budding wizards!

What we say:  “Any game that makes maths fun is worth a try and being a huge Orchard Toys fan I had high hopes for this new game…

My triplets are in Year 1, the perfect age for this game and each of them thoroughly enjoyed playing this game.

Each player chooses a Wizard board.  You then take a Magic Sum card and without showing the other players work out the answer to the sum…

If you have the Spell Ingredient card that matches the answer then you shout ‘abracadabra!” and rub the back of the Magic Sum card to see if your answer is correct!  If it is, you place the Spell Ingredient card onto your board and the winner is the first to have all of their ingredients!

As I find with all Orchard Toys games, if the real instructions are a little too confusing for your child, it is easy to tailor the game yourself.

A great way to practice maths with lots of fun and ‘abracadabra’s’ at the same time!”
