What they say: Monster Mission by Eva Ibbotson is a fun fantasy adventure full of fantastical creatures and mythical monsters!

‘We must kidnap some children,’ announced Aunt Etta. ‘Young, strong ones. It will be dangerous, but it must be done.’

Three children are stolen and taken to a bizarre island, which is home to some extraordinary creatures – including mermaids, selkies and the legendary kraken. The island is the base for a very mysterious mission. But the magical adventure is cut short when the island is suddenly under siege. Can the children save themselves and their new friends?

What we say: “First impressions were that the books cover is very appealing and has a really intriguing title: Monster Mission.

My daughters both tried to read the book alone, but some life situations confused them. This book is for older children who can understand different family situations at home.

The story was interesting and we always wanted to know what will happen next… I really loved the characters descriptions, they where so vivid that we could imagine them straight away. Even the mystical creatures seemed very real while reading the book.

I would recommend it for children aged 10 and above; those who like to have adventures and make up their own stories sometimes.”

Monster Mission by Eva Ibbotson is available from many good high street bookstores and online from Amazon.
