What they say: We’ve added even more magic and more surprises to The Father Christmas Experience at Marsh Farm.
From passport control at the start of your journey, it’s time to learn your elf-abet and graduate through the Elf Academy.
Next stop is to meet Mother Christmas to decorate a gingerbread before entering the Snow Show for a flurry of surprises.
As the children enter Father Christmas’ Grotto they’ll have to be checked on the Naughty or Nice list before meeting the real Father Christmas all the way from the North Pole. But the excitement doesn’t end there! The children then enter the toy workshop to make a special furry friend to take home before more surprises in the Toy Shop in our own Elf-ville.
You can enjoy all the extras before or after your Father Christmas Experience.
What we say: We visited the Marsh Farm Christmas experience last year and loved it so much we jumped at the chance to go back this year!
The amazing Marsh Farm team have made a few changes this year, which we loved!!
When we arrived we were given our Passports and a drawstring back pack to collect our snowy tokens and certificates in. Firstly we went to the Elf Academy; here they taught us the elf wave which all the children found hilarious! We then learned the Elf Promise- ‘I promise to be the best elf I can be, to be kind and caring for everyone to see and to keep the spirit of Christmas in my heart’.
Our passports were stamped and we picked up our certificate qualifying to be part of the Elf team! We then re-grouped and went through a snowy pathway to the next area…
We took our seats and we watched an acrobat in a hoop, which was very magical. Then it snowed! And the children got a chance to have a photo with the acrobat, unfortunately my son didn’t really like this part so we had to take him out so missed getting our photo taken!
Once we had our passports stamped here we moved on to Mrs Christmas’ Kitchen, where the children were read a story and then taught a magic spell to help her cake bake. The children got a chance to decorate ginger bread men, which of course they all loved!!
Next, Father Christmas! The Elf team were great and kept the children occupied while waiting their turn, making balloon animals, singing songs and generally keeping the children happy. We didn’t have to wait for long, one of the Elf team called my sons name and we went through to see Father Christmas!
I think it’s a great idea that the team find out the children’s interests and Christmas wish before the tour starts so that Father Christmas knew, which we thought was a special touch. The Father Christmas we saw was very traditional and made my son feel at ease, he asked my son lots of questions about his interests etc.
We had our photo taken and were given a lovely box of clotted cream fudge! A box each for me and dad, these were demolished on our journey home!! Lovely touch!
After this you have the chance to go and stuff a teddy, we did this last year so we missed it this time. Then onto the toy shop where your child gets to pick a toy of their choice. My son chose a pickup truck – he loves this and has taken it to bed with him since our day at Marsh Farm!! While Jesse was choosing his gift, I wrote a letter to Father Christmas and posted it in the letterbox on our way out, again another great touch and new for this year!
We had a really great time and we will definitely be back next year! Thank you for the great day out Marsh Farm and Mojomums!”
