What they say: Adapt, the new carrier from award-winning baby carrier experts, Ergobaby, is the ergonomic solution to comfortable, convenient and safe bonding, at every stage of a baby’s development.
Featuring three different seat width settings, Adapt ensures babies are perfectly supported at every stage; from newborns to toddlers – without the need for a separate infant insert from birth for babies above 7lb / 3.2kg.
Offering three ergonomic carry positions, Adapt provides a new level of comfort and convenience for parents too. Each position; front-inward, hip, and back carry, provides even weight distribution across the hips and shoulders, plus extra padded shoulder support straps to boost comfort.
A crisscross support strap option enables parents to position straps wherever is most comfortable, offering greater comfort for those with both narrow or wider shoulders, as well as providing a snugger fit for petite parents and smaller babies. With buckles that can be adjusted at the side rather than the back the Ergobaby Adapt carrier is also appreciated by parents with reduced mobility.
What we say: “I have been using a baby carrier, so when Mojomums approached me to review this Ergobaby Adapt I was keen to see the differences between mine and this new one.
My son is nearly 17 weeks old and I love the flexibility of using a carrier. I have to admit to finding them fairly tricky to initially put on, but once you get the hang of it and find your comfortable fitting, they are really easy to use and very comfortable too.
This carrier ‘grows’ with your baby, so only one financial outlay. While not the cheapest on the market, this version is also not the most expensive either and I think it’s great value for money when you consider that you can use until your child is up to two years old.
The carrier felt snug and secure around both my son and myself. The back strap support was a great addition and helped me to feel more secure. The straps sit well across my shoulders (I’m quite petite and do struggle with this!) and overall the carrier is extremely comfortable without being too bulky.
As your baby grows you move from carrying on your front, to your hip and then onto your back. I’m looking forward to trying the hip option soon, as I know from friends with older babies that their hips hurt from propping your baby there, I’m sure that the sling will help with this as it is a “hip healthy” product acknowledged by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute and certified and recommended by the Federal Association of German Back Schools.
I really hope that this carrier does work for me as my son grows; so far I have been very impressed and have swapped from my previous carrier to this one and would most definitely recommend it to anyone considering buying a baby carrier.”
