What they say: The Arch London has devised a baby shower afternoon tea served on a delightful multi pastel coloured Wedgwood fine bone china tea set. The perfect treat for a mummy to be to celebrate the impending arrival!
The baby shower afternoon tea features classic savory delights including Honey baked ham and piccalilli, Stilton cheese straws and Coronation chicken. For those with a sweet tooth, the afternoon tea will include Vanilla cupcakes, handmade marshmallows, Jammy dodgers and Chocolate orange tea cakes.
Afternoon tea is priced at £25 per person or £38 with a glass of Tattinger Brut Reserve, and can be enjoyed in the hotel’s stunning Martini Library, stylish Hunter 486 restaurant or chic Salon de Champagne lounge.
The Martini Library, which can be booked for a private baby shower event, is an opulent lounge area with sumptuous armchairs. The book shelves are filled with handpicked books, while stone fireplaces make this a truly decadent space to host a baby shower.
In the heart of Central London sits the five-star hideaway, The Arch London. The hotel is tucked away on a calm residential street a stone’s throw from the city bustle of the West End, Bond Street and Hyde Park, and spans seven Grade II listed Georgian townhouses and two mews homes.
What we say: “I have decided that I will become the official Mojomums Afternoon Tea Tester! I may not have a ‘baby on board’ but I was quick to accept The Arch’s invitation to come along and try their new afternoon tea…!
I love having an afternoon tea; there’s something very delectable about enjoying dainty sandwiches, scones and cakes while having a glass of champagne and a cup of tea in your hand at the same time!
We enjoyed a private afternoon tea in the Martini Library; a perfect setting for a baby shower with your nearest and dearest. And once settled you don’t even have to move from your sofa; call bells are conveniently placed around the room, just in case you require an extra scone (or two!)…
A glass of bubbles, a recommendation of the Chai Tea and then the main focus, afternoon tea was served! The beautiful Wedgewood china really set the theme…
The sandwiches were delicious; my favourite, the Roast Beef, my friends was the Coronation Chicken.
Next up, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam – Mmm….!!! I think I could happily eat only scones and cream for the rest of my life!
And then finally, cakes of all descriptions – each delicious, gooey, sweet and sugary. Perfection!
You really can spend a whole afternoon, taking your time and enjoying the wonderful food, drink and atmosphere. I think I rolled out of my chair…I had eaten so much!
We were also lucky to be shown around this beautiful hotel. 82 individually designed, luxurious guest rooms – perfect for an adult only break in the city or even a family stay…
The afternoon tea can also be taken in the Hunter 486 restaurant, but I would recommend booking in advance and asking for the Library; any mum-to-be would be thrilled to have her baby shower held here and based on my experience all of her guests would have a wonderful time too…”
