What they say: A Balloon Away is the first children’s book by travel writer and editor, Rosa Park. It tells the story of Sona, who travels to beautiful landscapes on her birthday – from glaciers and deserts to tropical beaches – with a silver balloon, and Grey, her new bear friend. Together, they fly over oceans; skim tree tops and sand dunes; count tree rings; and meet camels and spot icebergs along the way!

A wonderful story that rediscovers the value of companionship, adventure and curiosity, this stunning new book will let children gain a sense of wonder at the world, and instill a love of travel, whether physically or imaginarily.

What we say: “These days hygge and minimalist life style is very popular and this silver and grey book, “A balloon away”, made me think of it. It is very neat and made in beautiful simplicity.

A lovely story about girl named Sona and balloon. I like the educational facts while Sona travels with balloon to different places.

My daughter who is 1.5 years old is a little too young for it. She did not understand the facts and she preferes bright colours at the moment. But this book would be excellent for 2.5 years and older, who are curious about the world around them and starting to ask lots of questions.

This story helps to develop imagination for children by following story line and even all the shades of grey in pictures.”
