This year Breakthrough Breast Cancer is recruiting an army of bakers to fire up their ovens, hit the kitchen and give breast cancer a good beating in the first ever Great Pink Bake Off. We’re calling on local communities to whip up some support to help fund life-saving research by heading over to Breakthrough’s site and get planning for their bake off on Friday 18th October. Join in this fabulous baking campaign!
Breakthrough is urging women to text SIGNS to 70500 to get their free credit-card sized TLC guide. Not only does the guide detail the key signs and symptoms of breast cancer, it also includes information about what to do if you notice anything unusual. Its handy size means women can keep it somewhere useful, such as in a handbag or on the nightstand, that will act as a helpful reminder to check their breasts.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer ambassador Dr Hilary Jones, comments: “Many women don’t check their breasts either because they don’t know what signs and symptoms they are looking for or they simply forget to do it. I’m supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s TLC campaign to encourage as many people as possible to text SIGNS to 70500 to get their free handy guide that could save their life. The guide includes five common signs and symptoms of breast cancer and is handy enough to slip into a purse to serve as a reminder to make regular checks.”
