Kids’ Party Guide A – Z

A – Acrobatic Party

Great fun for children ages 4 and over, held in leisure centres where children are split into small groups and can rotate around the equipment. Some will provide food others you will need to bring your own.  Contact local gymnastic school websites for details.

B – Bowling

Local bowling centres will cater for children from 4 up and is an easy no hassle option keeping the mess at bay who will also provide the food.

C – Cookery Party

Fun either at home or in a venue or check out local bakeries who sometimes do these on their premises. The children get to cook their own lunch and even make the birthday girl/boy’s cake.

D – Dance Party / Disco

At home or in a venue, kids DJs will be able to cater for all ages and will know age appropriate games and songs. Ask about a foam machine and prizes.

E – English Tea Party

There are companies that will come to you and serve up a right royal tea party – though you can easily do this yourself if you have the time. Kids get high tea, non alcoholic champagne and you can couple this with a bouncy castle in the summer.

F – Football

For busy boys and girls who want to learn new football skills. Also ask your local club as you can go take a tour, learn new skills and some will even wheel out the manager or a player!

G – Glue and make

Messy play at home or in a venue where kids get to stick, stick and stick to their hearts content. You choose the theme and they come prepared for the kids to make crowns, animals and even capes or swords. Great fun.

H – Home

Why not throw a good old-fashioned party at home with some simple party games and food – kids love to play and if you think you can keep them enterained this is your lowest cost option by far (high mess though!)

I – Inflatables

Usually held in schools or leisure centres. Kids can enjoy 4 or 5 inflatables including obstacle course and traditional castles. For all ages and great tiring fun.

J – Juggling

A Circus themed party with face painting and balloons. Can be tailored to all age groups up to teenagers who get to learn juggling at every level.  Can be held at home, in the garden or in a venue.

K – Karting

For children aged 8 and over.  High speed, high adrenaline parties held at tracks all over the UK.

L – Limousines

Hire a limo to pick your child’s friends up and either give them a spy themed party in the Limo or  a pamper party for the girls. Most companies cater with food and drinks supplied.

M – Makeover

Not just for girls, makeover parties have evolved and now cater for boys too with themes such as high school musical and others.

N – Night time

A tradition sleepover party is often the most anticipated for both you and your child! Be prepared to stay up late and not get much sleep! – movies, popcorn and plenty of sleeping bags.

O –  Opera

Singing parties are becoming more and more popular amongst budding young X-Factor contestants but with the likes of Susan Boyle and this years Britain’s Got Talent runners up Jonathan and Charlotte kids are loving the opportunity to learn how to sing their own rendition of Caruso.

P – Party Bus

A double-decker bus that comes to your curb or drive full of softplay slides and games for the kids. Most will supply food too. The kids just love having the bus turn up and its great fun too.

Q – Quad Biking

For the older child (age varies) and be prepared to get messy as quad biking is an all-weather party that will leave your kid’s adrenaline pumping! A brave choice in our opinion but high rewards!

R –  Recording Studio

Treat your budding popstars to a recording studio party. They get to record their own song and take away a CD keepsake. You can also get a recording of the event for a bit extra.

S – Swimming

More adults are needed with a swimming party but the kids love pool parties and most venues lay on inflatables too.

T –  Tennis

Local tennis clubs treat your child to a tennis lesson made up of fun games. Lunch in the club house and a keepsake ball are the norm.

U – Under the water

Take the children to your local aquarium for thrills of the underwater kind. Most provide a tour and lunch in a party room.

V – VIP Party

They will come to you armed with everything needed to turn your children into the VIPs they have always dreamt of being. Complete with a red carpet, glass of non alcoholic champers and paparazzi! The good ones will compile photos for the children to take home with them of them made-over. You can add on record a song or dance routine too.

X – Xmas Party

If your child’s birthday is during the festive season, or they just love Christmas then hire a santa suite, put presents under the tree and a few games and songs and you’re away.

Y – Yoga

Baby Yoga is all the rage and you can also have baby yoga parties. They come to you and you and your friends can massage and do yoga with your babies learning tips and tricks to relieve symptoms such as colic and constipation.

Z – Zoo

So for those kids that love insects, snakes and even spiders (the big hairy kind) you can now get companies that come to your home or venue with a variety of creepy crawlies for your little one to hold. They learn about the animals and you can chose the varieties and amount in advance.

Happy party planning!
