I have always thought to be a midwife would be an amazing career; every time I watch One Born Every Minute I wonder to myself if it were something that I could actually do? The midwife who looked after me during my later stages of pregnancy and those first few weeks of being a mum was wonderful.
JOHNSON’S® Baby recognise that many of us have had wonderful birthing experiences, often down to the help and advice from our midwives, and they have joined forces with the Royal College of Midwives Annual Midwifery Awards giving you the chance to nominate your midwife…
Now open for entry and in its 6th year, it is the only national award in which new mums nominate outstanding midwives as a special “thank you” for all their support before, during and after birth and celebrates exceptional individuals making a difference for women, families and babies.
Once collated, nominations will undergo a rigorous judging process, with regional winners selected from outstanding midwives across the country in advance of the prestigious awards ceremony where the national winner will be announced. Louise Silverton, Director for Midwifery at the RCM says: “The JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year Award pays tribute to the fantastic work that our midwives do every single day. They help to inspire the next generation of midwives, and drive excellence in midwifery. We urge mothers to nominate their midwife so that excellent practice is recognised nationally.”
You can nominate your midwife simply by completing this nomination form: https://www.johnsonsbaby.co.uk/midwifeoftheyear.
To nominate, babies must have been born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014. The deadline for entries to the JOHNSON’S® Baby Mums’ Midwife of the Year Award 2015 is 22 September 2014.
We would love to hear from you about your nominated midwife and also if you are a midwife yourself…
