Name: Jo Davies
Number of children: 2
Job title: Clinical Reflexologist CNH5
Duties: relaxing Clients to enable the body to heal and restore to its natural state. Can also include but not trained in, counsellor, waitress, scientist, cleaner, etc etc
Hours: 20 hours per week, depending on school holidays
Childcare arrangements: none, children are both at school and in the holidays I mostly work from my home in Suffolk.
What I love about work: getting to know my clients. Uncovering the real truth. Often angry, unhappy, unfriendly people are just fearful people. I specialise in anxiety and love seeing a client finally recover after years of unhappiness.
What I find difficult is: nothing really, oh, the occasional smell from a diabetics feet. Very distinct smells of pear drops.
My working life would be easier if: It really is easy, I am not exaggerating. I wake up MOST mornings happy to start work. I have changed my lifestyle so I am full of energy at 6am.
Work/mum life balance: perfect
How having children has changed the work I do: I want to tell everyone to retrain, reconnect and enjoy time with your children. Do what makes you happy.
Fantasy job / If I wasn’t doing this, I’d be… a Hollywood actress….. I studied at the university of East Anglia in performing arts.
Mojomums helps mums get their mojo back – what advice would you give to mums who feel they have lost theirs?: Stop and see what you can change. Life moves really fast and changes happen, we have to manage this. Ignoring all the small stuff is a train crash waiting to happen, put on your brave shoes for one day and look at what you can do. Learn to love yourself, seriously. Meditation app headspace helped me along with monthly reflexology. Most importantly, laugh.
