Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day 2017

We all love Jamie Oliver and his Food Revolution Day this year is Friday 19 May.  Jamie has created a six-point plan for action on childhood obesity, which he believes governments across the world should be working towards as a priority.

  • Food Education
  • Nutrition
  • Food Waste
  • Our Planet
  • Cooking
  • Ethical Buying

Jamie is calling on us all to join a global Food Revolution in order to provoke debate and inspire real, meaningful, positive change in the way our children access, consume and understand food.

Why not kick start the day with one of his special, healthy, filling breakfasts for the whole family…

Mini super-fruit breakfast wraps

“This brilliantly quick recipe is easy to make in the morning before school, and will fuel your body in the right way. Blueberries and raspberries are a fantastic choice here, but feel free to swap in your favourite fruit, or whatever you have at home. Enjoy!”

Apple & pecan porridge

“Porridge is a good staple breakfast; it’s cheap, it’s filling and it’s nutritious, plus it’s super-simple to customise to keep things interesting. Have fun with your combos!”

Mexican-style omelette wrap

“Zingy with a bit of a kick, this silky omelette will really get you going in the morning. Plus it’s packed with good stuff: tomatoes are a source of Vitamin C, which we need to keep our teeth and gums healthy. Delicious!”

One-cup pancakes with blueberries

“These are the simplest pancakes to make with kids. You don’t even need scales to weigh out the ingredients – all you need is a cup or a mug. As long as you use the same cup for measuring both the flour and the milk, you’ll be laughing!”

We think you’ll agree these all sound so much more appealing than a slice of toast on the run!  Click on the images to follow the full recipe…
