What we say:
“We were asked if we would like to review a nights stay at the Hilton London Metropole hotel. We decided that it would be nice to go with our two oldest children (9 and 5) and do some things we wouldnt be able to do if we went with our 3 year old triplets in tow.
As the date fell between our daughters birthdays we planned a busy weekend and also booked tickets to see Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre (which was fab!).
We arrived at the hotel around 6pm after a busy day. Check in was busy but it didnt take us long to get our key.
The hotel is big and modern and was bustling with activity. We had a family room in the west wing at the back of the hotel. The room was the nearest to the lifts, which we were initially worried about but didn’t need to be as there wasn’t any noise at all.
The room itself was large with two queen beds. It also had a sofa area at one end and two flat screen tvs. It had enough room that we didn’t feel squashed and suited our needs perfectly for a nights stay.
For dinner we ate in the main restaurant. It had a relaxed atmosphere and children under 10 eat free when ordering from the childs menu.
After a comfortable nights sleep we had the delicious buffet breakfast and then headed to the 2nd floor for a swim. The pool offered plenty of floatation devices for the kids and wasn’t too busy so we got to have a good swim before heading back to our room for what we thought was a really generous midday check out. We visited the chocolate shop after we checked out and stocked up on some of the most delicious chocolates we have ever had and had as much fun choosing them too!
There a convenience store in the hotel that sells everything you need also – very handy when you have children with you.
The hotel is walking distance to Hyde Park and in turn the science museum. We spent a lovely day at both places before heading home!
We didn’t get to sample the whole of the hotel in our short stay; we would have loved to have visited the restaurant on the top floor and spent a day in the spa, so we will definitely be planning another stay.
Overall, we found the Hilton London Metropole to be a great hotel, in a central location and perfect for families, with everything you need for a busy London stay!”
