Healthy weekends away

So, new year, new you? Or new year, same you…but with big plans to get fit, keep motivated & take some time out for yourself?  Either way, a weekend away with friends, or on your own, at a ‘fitness’ retreat could be just what is needed to kick start your 2015.  Here’s a few ideas that Mojomums think look like great fun…

Boot Camp

If you prefer faster, harder hitting excercise then head off to boot camp!  With an average weekly weight loss of 8 pounds on their 7 day residential course, Prestige Boot Camp is recognised for exceptional results, stunning accommodation, unrivalled service and attention to detail.  They have boot camps running throughout the year at 3 venues across the UK and 1 in Spain if you prefer your training to be in the sun!

On a typical day you are woken up at 7am for 45 minutes of stretching and pulse raisers before breakfast and the day is generally broken up into hour long sessions where you are put through your paces with a variety of activities on site, or at nearby beaches or woodland which could include: circuit training, combat tasks, core training, obstacle courses and many more

Also included is at least 1 day of off-site activitie throughout your stay. All of the activities are ‘challenge by choice’ and these range from gorge walking through rivers and waterfalls, abseiling, zip wires, canoeing and even stand up paddle boarding and surfing if you choose Spain

After a hard days training guests are treated to a delicious evening meal and some down time. Meditation and relaxation might be on the menu plus a dedicated massage therapist is available most evenings as an optional extra, so you can be pampered after a rewarding day. You may sit back and enjoy a movie or there is often evening entertainment with comedy cabaret, games and quizzes or gather around the camp fire making new friends…

Lifehouse Spa and Hotel

We are sure many of you have visited a spa for a few hours of me-time, so why not spoil yourself and increase it to a night or two’s break away at a luxury spa hotel.  With so many to chose from all over the UK it’s hard to pick our favourites but here are a few…

The Four Seasons in Hampshire has a spa that is every bit as special as the hotel itself.  Housed in an 18th century stable block, surrounded by heritage listed gardens and countryside, even the spa is insired by nature. Signature treatments include Lavender, Rosemary and Mint Back Treatment and a Deeply Warming Clove and Eucalyptus Massage with ingredients hand picked from the herb garden adjacent to the Spa
