After attending my colour analysis class with House of Colour, I am now a true convert!

Before the class I wasn’t sure what to expect and thought I knew what colours to wear.  However, I have learned that in fact a lot of the colours I have been wearing don’t suit me at all.  I used to look back at unflattering photos of me and think I have had a bad hair day or I just don’t photograph in the right way;  but I now know that it is down to the colours I have been wearing!

From the start of the session Lynn was very friendly, good fun and knowledgeable. This session is carried out free of makeup – which I was really worried about, but Lynn reassured me and made me feel at ease.

We started the session by Lynn explaining about the colour wheel, the process I would be going through and answering any questions that I had.

Lynn then used a series of different coloured drapes to find out the colours that work best for me – first discovering whether I suit cool or warm colours (I suit warm) and then, vibrant or muted (I suit vibrant – this made me a “Spring”).  I was amazed at how the different in colours can change my face.  In particular, Burgundy and Moss Green made me look heavier, ill and tired whereas Aqua, Geranium Red and Corn Yellow really lifted my complexion making me look fresh and healthy.

The process also includes makeup advice and Lynn matched my skin tone to a mineral based foundation and chose blusher and lipsticks in my new colours.  I was so impressed by the foundation, blusher and lipsticks that I bought the lot.  We then looked at all my new colour palette to find out which are my very best colours and how much of each colour I can wear.

After lunch, Lynn explained how to use my new colour swatch booklet and gave me some key things to do next such as separating my wardrobe and shopping tips.

Lynn has really helped me to develop my confidence and to dress in the best colours to suit me and since wearing my new makeup I have received a lot of compliments.

I would recommend Lynn’s class to everyone because she is so friendly, knowledgeable and she has really helped me to wear the right colours and makeup.  It would be great to attend with a group of friends or as a work teambuilding event.
