Having exhausted all the conventional ways to meet her ‘Mr Right’ (and because now she really is a little bit desperate), Fleur Summers turns to her well-meaning, but eccentric friends and family for help. From ‘Man Mountain’; an engineer who eats everything in sight and tall dark handsome Tom with big hands but no idea how to use them, to the mysterious and brooding Henry Austin. Follow the trials and tribulations of Fleur’s journey as she works her way through a number of eventful blind dates, all in the name of finding true love.

In her debut novel, KT Valentine presents thirty something single mum, Fleur Summers, and her somewhat disastrous dating life. Imagine Bridget Jones meets Fifty Shades minus the red room of pain antics and you’ve pretty much got this page turning novel.

Committing the cardinal dating sin and letting her nearest and dearest, (including her mum!), attempt to find her a suitable boyfriend, readers will no doubt be left cringing at reliving the tales of Fleur’s dates or at the very least falling off their seats laughing. From “Man Mountain” and his no holds barred approach to the all you can eat buffet to Leon ‘I think it’s appropriate to wear a shell suit’ Adams, there is certainly a dating debacle that every woman can relate to.

Valentine’s debut novel has undoubtably mastered the art of tongue in cheek chick lit whilst on the pursuit for finding Mr Right. A far cry away from the super slim, twenty something, works in media protagonist, Valentine’s Fleur Summers is every bit the average mum you’d find in the playground. With a favourable attitude towards stomach sucking knickers, the occasional junk food binge and an impressive knack for embarrassing herself in nearly every situation, Fleur Summers is exactly the kind of woman you’d share a bottle of wine with and a gossip on a Friday night.

There’s no denying that Dispatches from the Dating Zone is a lighthearted triumph for Valentine, making dedicated following for the author inevitable. This is one book that every woman will want to have a giggle over and pass onto all of her friends.
