Borgo Egnazia, Puglia, Italy

Take me here, now!

Borgo Egnazia is castle-like & candle-lit, built in imitation of a traditional village but with luxurious add-ons including a championship golf course, two beach clubs & a knock-out spa that bases its treatments on ancient Puglian rituals

Rooms are styled with rural romance: almond-filled baskets, bird cages, egg-shaped ornaments & rope-strung keys are just a few of the trimmings; these are truly rooms that you will never want to leave…

The main restaurant, Due Camini, is set in the main building where the food is traditional Pugliese.  The menu changes with the weather & the hotel is pretty much self-sufficient: anything that isn’t homegrown is plucked from nearby

Neutral colours, lots of tufa rock, soft lighting & white furniture add up to a serene setting; glass bottles suspended from the ceiling, lanterns hanging off poles & wooden ladders rested up against the walls keep things characterful

Breathtakingly romantic, this hotel is best kept for a special ‘adult only’ break away, however they do happily accept children & the hotel offers a kids club & childrens facilities so if you have no one to look after your little muchkins, you can still enjoy this most spectacular, beautiful hotel
