What to wear this Winter

The cold weather is once again upon us and the nights are drawing in.

We all want to snuggle up in something warm and indulge in hot chocolate and some cosy nights in.

I absolutely love this time of year for key seasonal pieces that will take us through to Spring. The autumnal colours are beautiful and the textures are so indulgent.

There are a few pieces that you really shouldn’t live without this winter…Starting with the suede skirt. A real must-have. Short, long or midi, it really doesn’t matter. Just make sure that the shape and hemline you choose, works with your body shape.

If you’re petite, stick to a shorter length to emphasise your lower half and balance out your vertical proportions.

For taller girls, try a midi or long length for maximum impact.

Key colours to go for are tan, brown, burgundy or black.

Wear your new suede skirt with a turtle neck jumper, or a large chunky knit. Team these with a pair of ankle or knee high block heeled boots for the perfect outfit.

If you’re investing in a new coat this winter, opt for shearling. It will be warm, cosy and fashionable. You can dress shearling up or down and practically wear it with anything, including your gorgeous suede skirt.

Shearling ankle boots are also very on trend and incredibly warm.

Check out Sam Endelman for some gorgeous designs, including comfortable wedges.

Long waistcoats are a great way to layer up, without feeling frumpy and to update your wardrobe at the same time.

Opt for a classic piece that will see you through the winter, and that won’t date for next year. Take a look at Zara and Topshop for some inexpensive options that will stand the test of time.
