Mojomums Open Day: Saturday 28th July 2012

Mojomums had its very first open day on Saturday 28th July in Watford. Luckily the sun was shining which meant we could spill out of the building into the car park, allowing the children to enjoy icecreams, play on the bouncy castle and get their faces painted in the sunshine. Mums and dads could browse the stalls outside which included cakes, toys and helium balloons.

So what was it all about?

We wanted to bring families together to have a fun day and also give people a chance to see what Mojomums was all about. If you didn’t manage to make it down I made sure I visited all of our carefully chosen exhibitors to see exactly what they were all about:

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time before, during and after the event – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Stella & Dot – not your average jewellery! They have some gorgeous pieces that would work well across both work and evening wear, one of my favourite pieces was this gorgeous necklace that is definitely a stand out piece, especially teamed with a little black dress!

They also do handbags and clutches as well as mobile phone cases. Give their site a visit now and discover a range of quality pieces.

Ainsley Grant Make Up Artist and PAMPER PARTIES  – Ainsley is an accomplished make-up artist who is available for wedding make-up, however what interested me ( and I am sure a lot of our mums out there) was that she now holds pamper parties for kids. Her parties are fun and based at your home. What little girl doesn’t want  a makeover from all of her friends? Contact Ainsley now for more information on her packages.

My Secret Kitchen – Heidi set up her table with a selection of her delicious sauces and chutneys for you to try – great idea! My favourite was the garlic, which was delicious and perfect for me as it’s the raw ingredients sold in a box which allows you to make up the sauce (simply add to mayo or similar) as and when you need it. It’s quick and saves you throwing away pots of sauces because you can never use the whole lot before it goes out of date. Fab idea!  If you are looking for something a little bit different to keep in your cupboard to make those meals extra delicious visit My Secret Kitchen. They create fabulous foods, fantastic new flavours and inspiring recipe ideas to make meals more amazing.

Jamie at Home – Sarah runs her own Jamie at Home franchise and I am already a fan so was keen to pay her a visit. They have lots of great packages and bundles and as ever the products do not disappoint being high quality and make fantastic gifts (if they make it that far, I tend to keep them). My favourite was this great drinks dispenser that can be used for kid’s juice or adults cocktails! It can be stacked three high and looks great!

Lisa Bea – Lisa designs her own bags for both adults and also has a little bea range for kids. She can also cater for bespoke orders and her bags are classy and very well made. My daughter loved the personalised bags and I now know where to go to get a bag to match my shoes!! If you love bags then you will love Lisa Bea.

Bows – I loved Bows, great products and a great idea. About to launch her website and Facebook page, Bows make unique gifts for all ages all bundled together and wrapped up in a great fun package that anyone would love to receive. On display there was a makeup gift hamper my daughter would have loved, as well as a back to school gift hamper wrapped in cellophane and ribbons containing a pencil case, note pads etc. Great fun and can also be bespoke. I loved the new-born bundles and she also does chocolate trees. For more information on what Bows has to offer contact them.

Children’s Activities/Adult Fashion Show/Entertainment

The Mojomum children had a fantastic time enjoying the bouncy castle, soft play, face painting, Peppa Pig and George characters, magic show and music class to name only a few.

A special thanks also has to go to Fancy Nancy and Kidz and the Catwalk who delivered superb adult and children’s fashion shows respectively.  With only a few minutes of meeting the children the Kidz on the Catwalk team choreographed teams of up to 20 children with several outfit changes to participate in a show that was watched by event visitors.
