Celebrating British Sandwich Week!

Who doesn’t love a sandwich?! They don’t have to be boring like this…

White or brown bread, crusty or soft, baguettes or good old sliced, there are no end to the sarnie delights that you can make!

This week is British Sandwich Week, a week-long celebration of the greatest food to go and quite possibly the most iconic British culinary invention, the Sandwich.

My children and I love a sandwich at lunchtime – it’s so easy and filling and we are always trying to think of new ways to make them a little more exciting…

Num Noms sent us a goody bag filled with sandwich essentials…

For those of you whose children haven’t yet discovered Nom Nums, they are scented lip gloss characters! Scented Nums are adorable, squishy characters with tons of personality, Noms are flavoured, glitter lip gloss! Stack the Nums on top of the Noms to make 3,000+ sweet scented combinations.

Coming in all types of flavours including Cookies, Fancy Cakes, Creamery, and Creme-Filled, we took some inspiration from these and decided to bake scones…!

Instead of making sweet scones, we made savoury – perfect instead of bread and easy to fill just the same as a bread sandwich! Logan chose cheese and ham (I had added a little mustard to the scone mix so these went perfectly!) and I had onion chutney and lettuce. I must say they were delicious!

Nom Nums are available from many high street toy stores including Argos.
