RCCL - cruise

Tell us about RCCL & cruising…

A cruise is a fantastic family holiday, with all meals, entertainment, facilities on board included. You can wake up in a new destination every day! Some of our ships are based out of the UK so no flying required, which is great with young children. If you do have to fly, we offer ‘babies to go’ packages, where you can pre purchase on our website, your nappies, wipes, nappy cream and baby food! This saves on your luggage allowance and is conveniently placed in your cabin for when you arrive on board!

What does RCCL offer for families onboard?

Royal Caribbean cater extremely well for families. We have Nurseries on board many of our ships now, we can even offer baby sitting in the evening at a small charge. This allows parents to relax, and enjoy a meal, nightclub, casino or a show –  everyone is happy!

Our Adventure Ocean Kids clubs cater for children from 3-17 years old.  All activities are suitably thought out for the relevant age groups & pagers can be provided for the younger childrens parents for peace of mind.  We are in partnerships with Fisherprice and Crayola, so all toys and creative arts are of a high standard and trustworthy brands.

If the children are registered in the Adventure Ocean Kids clubs, we can offer ‘My Family Time Dining’. They go along to dinner with their parents and are collected by the kids club team after about 45 minutes so that they can then go off and have fun after eating, while parents enjoy the rest of their meal at leisure! Another great family initiative!

Every night on every ship, children are invited to the Adventure Family Library in their PJ’s for bedtime stories, lullabies, and are treated to cookies and milk!

We have incredible entertainment at sea! Broadway style shows, Ice shows featuring professional skaters from around the world, Aqua Theatre and even Dreamworks Animation were you can meet and greet your favourite characters, watch live shows and 3D movies.  Some of our ships have outdoor poolside movie screens for your enjoyment too!

All of our ships have the rock climbing walls, some of our larger ships have the H2O water park zones and the Flo rider Surf simulator, Ice Skating Rink and some also have roller skating!

We have heard that food onboard a cruise is of a very high standard – do you cater for our fussy little ones as well?

Our restaurants will steam and puree fruits and vegetables if this is required for your little one! Nothing is too much trouble. We have highchairs available in our dining rooms.

All of our ships offer a main dining room for a la carte dining, but we also offer a more casual restaurant which is available for food almost all round the clock – The Windjammer Cafe! We also have speciality dining options available at a supplement & on some of our ships Johnny Rockets, a 1950’s style diner with all your American favourites! Booths, Juke Box, staff that burst into song, burgers, fries & shakes! Not to mention our special Royal Caribbean Oreo Fudge Sundae! This is a great place for the children and you often find the teens popping in here in the evening.

Room service in your stateroom is included free of charge. So if children require a snack you can order something from the menu. If you want breakfast in your stateroom or on your balcony, you can have it!

Wow! We want to go, now! But are the cabins big enough for a whole family?

Some cabins can be quite compact, but we do have a variety of categories available. A lot of our Inside cabins and Ocean View cabins can sleep 2 adults and 2 children, and some can even take a crib (which we provide). If the beds are pull down beds/upper berths, these are made up by your cabin steward in the evening whilst you are out at dinner and folded away again during the day, once you have left the cabin for breakfast, so they are not in the way. Our balcony cabins and suites can usually have either a double or twin sofa bed in them and are slightly larger. A standard Interior cabin is approx 152 square feet, Balcony cabins are approx 214 sqaure feet. We have a number of family cabins which sleep up to 6 people, these are 338 sqaure feet. Our variety of suites are also a lot larger. So depending on your individual requirements, needs and budget we will have something suitable for you to choose from.
