So no matter how much thought and worry you put into your decision to have another child, sometimes nature knows best! So with all my worries, concerns and should we shouldn’t we questions our family will be expanding in April. I am currently 13 weeks pregnant.
Last time I had such a perfect pregnancy and birth that I am preparing myself that I can’t possibly be that lucky again! This time I haven’t had morning sickness, but I have felt a lot sicker than last time. My waist has expanded a lot more quickly than last time. I may have to dig out the ugly elasticated waists already! I have been a bit under the weather, I got a cold that has wiped me out, with headache and aches like I haven’t had before. I guess last time I was so lucky and so healthy throughout my pregnancy that this time when I got a mild ailment like a cold I wasn’t expecting it to floor me for a week!
We have had the 12 week scan and the 20 week scan is due in December (i’ll keep you posted!) We have to decide if we want to find out the sex, we didn’t last time and I think it helped me to get through the birth as I was so desperate to find out the sex the actual pushing bit was over quite quickly. Plus it doesn’t matter what the sex if we have another girl well we have everything we could possibly need (and possibly more!) If it is a boy we have one of each which is great too.
My daughter is very excited to be getting a baby, which she thinks is hers. She has told me she wants a brother and she wants to call him Henry (huggle monster!)
I have to admit it took me a while to get my head around the idea of having another child, last time was so perfect and my daughter slept, ate and did everything a baby is supposed to do (in the books) so surely I can’t be that lucky again. Plus the idea of getting her ready for nursery and getting out of the house on time with a newborn too seems beyond me, but hundreds of other parents do it, so I’ll be OK right?!
Well that is my good news, I will keep you updated on my journey and if you have any tips or hints for me along the way I’d love to hear them!
